Volvo Pure Tension Pavilion

The Pure Tension Pavilion is a portable, solar-powered tensile membrane structure designed for Volvo Italia to showcase the Volvo V60 hybrid electric car. The pavilion is an experimental structure that speculates on the future of personal mobility and alternative energy sources. It engages potential customers in a viewing experience beyond the typical showroom by translating the product characteristics into a sculptural immersive 3dimensional piece.

From product to experience.

The pavilion’s concept, design development and fabrication was done under 6 months and was deployed around Italy and the US in multiple events and festivals generating excitement around the car. It was named one of Time’s Magazine 25 best inventions of the year 2013.
